You do not want to hire an attorney.
I understand that you do not want to hire an attorney.
I am aware that you even though your situation has caused you to seek legal counsel, you still do not want to hire an attorney.
You might be frustrated because you are part of a dispute that you cannot bring to resolution. Perhaps you are uncomfortable thinking about planning to protect your family’s financial interests in the event you pass. You may be nervous about setting up a new business venture without the knowledge of how to proceed.
These types of scenarios (and your reaction to them) typically lead you to seek out legal counsel. The decision to do so often stems from a desire on the client’s part to establish or reinforce a support system in regard to the scenario at hand. The job of the lawyer is then to support the client by advocating for and advising the client.
If you have decided to obtain legal counsel, I know that you have come to this conclusion begrudgingly, and that retaining an attorney is not your first choice of how to spend your effort, time and money. My philosophy as an attorney is a simple, three-point commitment:
- To provide each client with the advocacy and advice that person needs to meet his or her goals;
- To recognize that each client carries some type of burden associated with whatever led to their hiring me as counsel, and to alleviate that burden to the greatest extent possible; and
- To provide representation on a cost-effective basis.
I have handled hundreds of matters for a variety of clients in my years as an attorney, and I have approached each matter with the utmost consideration of my clients’ needs and goals. If we have the chance to work together, you can rest assured that your needs and goals will be my highest priority.
